Petite La Fleur

This morning I woke up at 7 AM, showered, and got ready, to leave with my mom at 8:45 for the German Christmas Market at the Lutheran Church she works at. I helped set up her stuff at the piano and then we helped some others set up their booths as well. At 9:30 it opened and I began making my rounds for christmas shopping. Overall, it was wonderful! I managed to get gifts for my friends, family, and teachers. (: Heather, David, and Giulia came around 10:45 and stayed until about noon, just looking around and getting some food. My dad and brother came as well and I helped him with some shopping too. It was all over at 3:30 and we left around 4:00 after cleaning up. When we came home, my mom and dad left to go out to eat and my brother had his friend come over. My parents brought home some food for me and bought pizza for the boys. I spent the rest of my evening reading On Writing Well  by William Zinsser WHICH WAS GREAT! <3 ...

HAPPY OCTOBER.... THIS BASICALLY MEANS IT'S HALLOWEEN... RIGHT? I absolutely love fall and autumn and halloween and it's just a wonderful time of year<33 Heather brought me to school today, so that was cool. My schedule consisted of Algebra, Psychology, and Physics.  Not exactly all that exciting.... BUTTTTT I met Kelsey Timmerman today!! Yeah, the author of The Peay Read, Where am I wearing? , which we read in English. Yep. I met him, and he was so awesome and ah it was great. Then I did homework with Heather before going to the Peay Read Keynote Speech at 7pm, where Timmerman talked about the book and his other one Where am I eating? that I am actually dying to read!  Also, little side note: I've applied to several colleges this week (since it was College App week at school) including:  Ohio University Bellarmine University The Kings College Maryville College So we'll see how that goes... In Chapter 12 of Where Am I Wearing? , Kelsey Timmerman speaks of Labor Day, a holiday “around the world of everyone except a few countries, including the United States.” Every country in the world has its own holidays, traditions, and beliefs; In fact, most people have their own personalized ones as well. The extreme differences with culture between countries and even continents, is of such high magnitude, it’s absolutely fascinating. On the other hand, there are plenty of similarities as far as ordinary people go and once we strip away the limited differences, we’ll see that we’re much more similar than we think. After reading Timmerman’s novel, I stumbled upon a ton of questions myself and although I tend to see myself as a bit cultured, there’s still plenty of cultures I’ve never come across. Man oh man it's been a hectic weekend already. So yesterday, I woke up at 9:00 with my mom and ate breakfast. Mark, my Dad's old friend, is going to be staying with us for a bit and he arrived last night but I was already in bed asleep when he got to our house. I'm still trying to get over this really bad cold so I had to cancel on working out with Illy this morning since I could barely breathe out my nose. Anyway, this morning Alexander had a tuba and trombone lesson so I went with him and my mom, intending to stop by the farmer's market for some vegetables. Well, unfortunately, the stand I usually get them from was all out except for Squash and eggplant. So it was sort of a bust. After we picked up Alexander, we went to the commissary on post for some grocery shopping. So yesterday was a very saddening, traumatic, and terrible day; my cat died... My 15 year old cat, that I have had since I could remember, is gone... Titi, beloved cat, passed away yesterday around 6:30 by simple old age... It was very sad. We all cried. And that's why I wasn't really into the whole blogging yesterday. Anyway, yesterday, I had my College Algebra class (which I was late to, again... I really should leave my house earlier...) then lunch with Gabby, Emilia, Heather, and Brittany before going to Psychology. We got half way through Chapter two which means I have a this entire weekend to read ahead to Chapter three. Perfect. Directly after, I went to Physics where I was partnered up with Maddy for the two labs we had in class, which we ended up staying an hour longer to finish so we wouldn't have to find time later. Man oh man. I woke up at 5:30 AM and went on my first run with Caitlyn and it was pretty intense.  When I get home, I took a shower and then ate breakfast. Next, I practiced cello from 8-9 AM, did laundry and finished up some chores as well as began reading Naked Lunch  by William S. Burroughs between 9-10 AM, had my French lesson 10-11 AM, and ate lunch and collected my things for the day before leaving. My first class was English at 1:45, where we just had our final chapter discussions and then given our creative response assignment guidelines. Next came Government at 3:10, where we met in the library and were to begin our research for our court cases but Heather and I weren't as focused as we probably should be. Oh well, it's not due until next Wednesday, I just need space to research and study on my own. Anyway, next I went to ballet which was from 5:00-6:30 and ohhhh myyyy. It was rough.
