Errands and To-Do's

Image
Well my weekend thus far has been filled with To-Do lists and errands. This morning I woke up at 8:15, did the dishes, made some coffee, and prepared myself breakfast. Trying to complete a couple of things off my to-do list while my mom was out at choir practice, I wrote my chosen career field Senior Seminar paper, mailed a scholarship, packaged my friend's gift, reorganized my binders, and tidied up my little nook area. At 12:15, I got dressed and made my mom and I some lunch before we headed out on our errands. My family recently got a YMCA membership so first we went and got our pictures taken for the system and got free t-shirts. Next was a stop to an ATM, then gas, and finally Fort Campbell Commissary to do grocery shopping. We managed to buy lots of Vegetarian products, fruits, and vegetables for me so that was wonderful!<3 We got home around 6, putting everything away and Mom practiced before we prepared dinner. (: Also, in the mail came an AFS 2016 calendar so that...

August 16, 2015

My day started off bright at 9 AM :) Mom came home from work around 1:30 and we drank coffee while chit chatting (you know the usual mother-daughter occurrence).  At 3 her and I went to an AFS meeting since she's a liaison and I'm wanting to be an avid volunteer<33 So excited to be more involved with AFS! :) Then my family and I went out to eat dinner together. That's pretty much the extent of my day :)

Missing Out? NOT.

Why is there such a fear of "missing out" ? For instance, in high school, people feel obligated to go to Prom, Homecoming, Football games, Pep rallys, etc. Yes, there are people who really do want to go to these events, but there are plenty of people I know that don't really want to go but do anyway because they fear missing out... I went to Prom with one of my close friends and I loved it, but I went to the Middle College prom and we only had like maybe 60 people. It was a very intimate setting and it just felt like a big party of friends. I don't like football, but I was sort of pressured to feel as if I was missing out if I didn't go to the games. (I still only went to one game a year, the Warfield Shield game, since it was one of the biggest games). I went to my freshmen year homecoming and honestly it was dreadfully boring, so I didn't go the next years and people were like "aw you're missing out." Sophomore year, I felt I had to g...

Nashville Outing with Hanna

Image
June 12, 2015 Hey guys!  Today. Was. Fabulous. For a little recap of yesterday: I got blood-work done, volunteered at the library, checked out 9 books (on English, Scottish, and Irish history), got to do BlackLight painting and had Burger King. But on with today.... I woke up around 7 today because I had a doctor's appointment on post so my mom and I went there this morning. We also completed some errands on post, such as picking up laundry detergent/softener and other hygiene products since I'm leaving for Watauga this Sunday! <333 But what really made today fabulous was picking up Hanna today at 1:30, driving to Nashville, and making a day of it.  Our first stop was Provence Cafe and Bakery where we got coffee and some lunch for my mom and myself (Hanna had eaten at home). It was delicious. Hanna had an espresso and bought a baguette, my mom had a Latte, a Tuna sandwich and bought baguette as well, and I had a Pumpkin Spi...

Miss Lucille's Cafe & Marketplace

Image
June 10, 2015 Today my mom, Hanna , Ramona and I decided to have lunch at Miss Lucille's which has a cafe, marketplace and coffee stand. Basically: It's my wonderland.  We had lunch first since it was noon at the cafe where my mom and I ordered an Italian Job Panini, Hanna had a strawberry salad, and Ramona had some wrap that was impossible to pronounce. It was all delicious and I had a wonderful time just chit chatting while we ate.  Next we decided to walk around the antique marketplace which was huge and splendid! I adored it! There was vintage everything: books, clothes, clocks, phones, red lights, etc. Again, it was my wonderland. Ramona ended up buying a cute shirt and although I had tons of things I wanted to buy, I decided to have some restraint and come back another time.  Finally, my mom and I ordered coffee's and I got a French Vanilla Latte and she got a Cafe Au Lait. Both delicious. It was a wonderful, precious day with wonderful, precio...
