Missing Out? NOT.

Why is there such a fear of "missing out" ? For instance, in high school, people feel obligated to go to Prom, Homecoming, Football games, Pep rallys, etc. Yes, there are people who really do want to go to these events, but there are plenty of people I know that don't really want to go but do anyway because they fear missing out... I went to Prom with one of my close friends and I loved it, but I went to the Middle College prom and we only had like maybe 60 people. It was a very intimate setting and it just felt like a big party of friends. I don't like football, but I was sort of pressured to feel as if I was missing out if I didn't go to the games. (I still only went to one game a year, the Warfield Shield game, since it was one of the biggest games).
