This morning I rode with Heather and her brother to school. Sadly, there were no bagels at my house so I bought a bagel at Einstein's as well as a yogurt with blueberries and granola. From 8-10, I sat and chit-chatted with Heather since my English exam was at 10:15. I believe it went well! :) Then, I walked back to the UC to hang out with Heather, and we sat in Einstein's, eating lunch with Emilia and David while studying for our Government exam at 1:15. The exam itself was pretty easy since we were allowed to use Handwritten notes and we had seen a lot of the questions before. Afterwards, Heather went with David so I went to the library and worked on some scholarship applications until my mom was done with work around 5. (:

Ello friends. :) This morning I had a doctors appointment at 9 so I woke up at 7:30, got ready and ate breakfast to make sure my mom and I could leave by 8:30. I was done by 10 so we stopped by Dollar General to buy some Christmas Cards and then the library for me to return some of my books. Then she dropped me off at Austin Peay because I had some homework and paperwork to do, and I was meeting with Emilia around noon to study for our exams. (: I had a very productive day and I got to hang out with both Emilia and Ben (he came to visit me in the library since he's going home for the break). So it was good :) Around 1:30, I began having a terrible headache (which ended up lasting until this evening and becoming a massive migraine to the point I was in tears)... Other than that it was a good day. :)

Hey guys :) Today I woke up around 9 am, even though I went to bed early, I ended up waking up 4-5 times last night. Anyway, I got up, ate breakfast and watched a few youtube videos before organizing my email. Sitting on social media for a bit, I decided to start my homework around 1:45 for my Government class which I posted just a little bit ago. Then I worked on my physics notecard for my exam on Tuesday. We're allowed to have this notecard filled with whatever notes we want, front and back. So believe me, I wrote super small. I looked over my English study guide as well, but I'm meeting with Emilia tomorrow to study so I just read over a few things. At 6:00, my family, my brother's friend who spent the night last night, and I ate dinner (spaghetti). Around 7:00, I started getting ready because Heather was coming over to go to the lights downtown with my mom and I. First, we stopped by Starbucks to get our free coffee (holiday special) and then went to the lights....

KCRW Podcast Analysis

Podcast November 20, 2015 : The Paris Attacks  On November 13th, 2015 there were several terrorist attacks in Paris, which caused huge uproar across the world and reviving similar emotions for the French due to the Charlie Hebdo attacks in January of this year. The host opens the podcast with a question for one of the guests, Rich Lowry, about a phenomenon he labeled and what he thought of it. Lowry replied that although the “I am Charlie” or “Je Suis Charlie” was a sweet sentiment, none of us were actually brave enough to draw cartoons of Mohammed at risk of our life. After the Paris attacks, another symbol was spread on the internet of the peace symbol with the Eiffel Tower inside of it. Believing this gesture is often a substitute of thought of the actual event itself, the public in fear of having an opinion of what to do, Lowry states, “having these kind of feel-good symbols online has really nothing to do with the nature of the threat and how to address it.” The host, f...

Letter to a Local Official

December 11, 2015 Jim Durret Office of the County Mayor 1 Millennium Plaza Clarksville, TN 37040 Dear Mayor Durret, As a high school senior, strongly involved with the Clarksville-Montgomery Public Library, being part of the Library’s teen advisory board, as well as job-shadowing, I suggest the creation of a branch of the public library in the southern or northern section of the county. The reasoning behind this idea is due to several factors : convenience, accessibility, and right. The current location of the Clarksville-Montgomery Public Library is on the Southwest region of the city, the heart of downtown which is rather inconvenient. The majority of Clarksville is built off the highway, for example, I live off of Exit 11, close to the border between Clarksville and Adams and the Public Library is almost 20 minutes away and for those living further, it can be almost 30 minutes. The public library is supposed to be at the disposal of the citizens, however, due to t...

This morning my mom and I went to Austin Peay around 11 since she had a lesson at 11:30. I went to the Marks, returned my college textbooks,  and ran some errands before going to the UC to wait for my mom to go to Senior Seminar. Today we had a financial aid guest speaker, so parents were invited. So we sat in the room for over an hour, listening to a lady reiterate a lot of the information we've been told before but that's okay. Then I went to the library with Heather and Brittany. For both my classes, we were meeting in the library but it was pretty much independent study for English and then Government we just had to turn in our letter to a local official and we were dismissed. David picked up Heather and I from Austin Peay and brought me home (which was nice) and I spent the rest of my afternoon watching Gossip Girl. It's pretty addicting.

Today my mom brought me to school around 11 and I worked on somethings before my English class at 1:45. We met in the library for both my English and Government class. For English we had to choose a sonnet by Shakespeare and do an analysis. For Government, we worked on our letter to a local official. At 6:00 my mom picked me up to go to the Lutheran Church she works at for an Advent service/dinner/talk thing. It was interesting. :)

Hey guys! So although we went out for dinner for my brother's 14th birthday yesterday, today was his actual birthday!! 14... wow. Anyway, for the past 4 years, my biggest "tradition" for his birthday was sticky notes. The first year, I just put one in his lunchbox. But over the years, I've filled his entire door with Happy Birthday sticky notes, a Sticky Note Yellow Brick Road, and a house sticky note invasion... This year I woke up at 4:30 AM (to make sure it was done before he woke up) to make a sticky note big 14 on his door :) I also managed to get a little dressed up since I was up so early. I wore a blue dress, tights, and my light pink scarf. At 7:00, Heather picked me up for school and we dropped off her brother before getting to campus. I stayed on the computer working on some homework and stuff until English at 1:45 where we turned in our weekend assignment, finishing the Canterbury Tales, and took notes on Sonnets and Shakespeare, since that'l...

Heyyy. :) Today was a bit better, I've still been feeling a little sick but oh well. This morning I had a doctor's appointment at 8 am to discuss my dietary switch to Vegetarianism and they did some blood work to make sure I'm all good. Then my mom dropped me off at school and I worked on some homework and then we went to the UC to get some lunch before I had class. In English we talked about the Pardoner's Tale from the Canterbury Tales (we had to read it for homework) and then we took a 7 Deadly Sins Quiz where I learned my two most prominent sins are Wrath and Pride. Which, honestly, I'm not surprised. I do get frustrated easily and lash out on people (I've gotten better at it) and one of my biggest pet peeves is being embarrassed in front of people. For example, if someone makes me look foolish or stupid, I hate it and then I get angry (hence the Wrath). So yeah. After class I stopped by Starbucks to get a Gingerbread loaf (in fact I got two) and th...

Hey guys! :) Today I was on campus at 10 AM because I needed a laptop for my 3:10 class but our secretary was going to leave at noon so I had to come before. Which was fine because I ended up just hanging out with Heather in the library until I had to eat lunch at 1. In English at 1:45, we met in the library to work on our Astrology Grendel project. And in Government, we finished our Electoral Collage notes and had a propaganda commercial assignment. After class, I walked with Heather to the Marks because she had to tutor this kid. Then at 5:30, we went to the library to work on our Physics lab report and Algebra quiz. We ended up sitting in the library until about 8 PM... Then, we stopped by the shell gas station to get slushies, she came over to my house to eat dinner and SHE HELPED ME DYE MY HAIR. MWUAHAHAHAHA. Yep, that happened. So yeah :)

Hey friends!! I DYED MY HAIR GREEN. WOOOO SURPRISE! I'll get to that later, but first ...... This morning I had a doctor's appointment on post at 8 am so I had to wake up at 6 in order to leave by 7:15. The appointment went well though and then I went grocery shopping with my mom at the Commissary and we grabbed a few things, mainly stuff for me, you know, fruit, veggies, and snack since I'm basically full vegetarian now. We swung by the house to put everything away and eat a quick lunch before going onpost. I had Senior Seminar at 12:20 where we had three guest speakers: UT Martin, some bank, and a lady for the honors program at Austin Peay. In English we were put into discussion groups for chapters 6-10, given projects to do (Brittany, Gabby, Emilia and I are doing Astrology) and then homework is to read chapters 11-12. My last class, Government, we just took notes the entire time over Political Parties and such. Afterwards, I had a battle of the books meeti...
