Letter to a Local Official
December 11, 2015 Jim Durret Office of the County Mayor 1 Millennium Plaza Clarksville, TN 37040 Dear Mayor Durret, As a high school senior, strongly involved with the Clarksville-Montgomery Public Library, being part of the Library’s teen advisory board, as well as job-shadowing, I suggest the creation of a branch of the public library in the southern or northern section of the county. The reasoning behind this idea is due to several factors : convenience, accessibility, and right. The current location of the Clarksville-Montgomery Public Library is on the Southwest region of the city, the heart of downtown which is rather inconvenient. The majority of Clarksville is built off the highway, for example, I live off of Exit 11, close to the border between Clarksville and Adams and the Public Library is almost 20 minutes away and for those living further, it can be almost 30 minutes.
