Nashville Outing with Hanna
June 12, 2015
Hey guys!
Today. Was. Fabulous.
For a little recap of yesterday: I got blood-work done, volunteered at the library, checked out 9 books (on English, Scottish, and Irish history), got to do BlackLight painting and had Burger King.
But on with today....
I woke up around 7 today because I had a doctor's appointment on post so my mom and I went there this morning. We also completed some errands on post, such as picking up laundry detergent/softener and other hygiene products since I'm leaving for Watauga this Sunday! <333
But what really made today fabulous was picking up Hanna today at 1:30, driving to Nashville, and making a day of it.
Our first stop was Provence Cafe and Bakery where we got coffee and some lunch for my mom and myself (Hanna had eaten at home). It was delicious. Hanna had an espresso and bought a baguette, my mom had a Latte, a Tuna sandwich and bought baguette as well, and I had a Pumpkin Spice coffee with tomato soup.
We sat in the cafe to chit chat about lots of things before going next door to the CUTEST BOOK SHOP I'VE EVER BEEN TO, BookManBookWoman. My mom and I found this place last week I believe and that same day I had purchased a 1965 edition of "Northanger Abbey" by Jane Austen (which I am so excited to read!!). The minute I saw it, I knew Hanna would love it so that's why we brought her today. The three of us walked around, embraced the strong smell of books, and even made a few purchases. Hanna only bought one book since she's going back home to Sweden soon and didn't want to buy anything too bulky. I, on the other hand, may or may not have splurged... I got:
1. Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder
2. The Learning Society by Robert M. Hutchins
3. Excellent Women, Jane and Prudence, and An Unsuitable Attachment (3 books in one) by Barbara Pym
4. All Soul's Day by Bill Morris
5. This Realm of England by Lacey Baldwin Smith
I mean really, I got 5 books (technically 7) for a little over $14 dollars. Like what. It was amazing.
Next we visited a cute bohemian store called Pangea where we saw some very cute, eclectic jewelry, books, notebooks, and clothes.
Lastly, we dropped into a very charming and chaotic coffee/kitchen store. We only briefly skimmed but it was rather endearing.
The drive home was a bit sad since today could potentially be the last time I'll see Hanna before she leaves since I leave for Watauga this Sunday until the 27th and she leaves the 28th...
She's one of the most amazing people I've ever met, so sweet and so optimistic. Such a beautiful person inside and out. I know I'll see her again one day but I'm still sad she's leaving. No matter what, she'll be one of my closest friends and today was probably one of the best goodbye's. <333
