17 Year Old Blogger Can't Even Blog

I would like to say I was on sabbatical... but this isn't a paid job.

So, my lovely readers, here is a list of excuses as to why I have not really blogged since March-ish. Technically, I wrote my book reviews in April for my Media class and I posted some of my other classwork assignments, but really my last personal posts were around March and even those were limited.

1. Senior year took it's toll on me - with all the college things I had to do (applications, paperwork, switching from Knoxville to American), my school work, and just trying to enjoy my last year with my friends, I really did not prioritize blogging as much as I wanted to or should have.

2. Writer's block has been a total pain. I'll get these ideas and then debate with myself wether or not they are
a)relevant to post on social media
b)too personal to post on a blog I would like to show professionals one day (but let's face it, this blog has been a total bust these past few months since the only thing I post are my daily life pictures)
c)not thought out enough - as in I fear not doing enough research on the subject I wish to post
     d) embarrassing - yep, I said it folks. The girl who wishes to be a journalist is embarrassed to write some opinions or anecdotes on social media even though she has a relatively involved social media life.

3. I was on vacation from June 26 until pretty much July 15. My family and I went to Johnson City, Tennessee first to meet up with some family members for a day (more like an evening and a breakfast). Then, traveled to  Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where my brother got appendicitis half way through the week and had to have his appendix removed. Never fear though, it certainly did not ruin our vacation and we still managed to have loads of fun! For the 4th (technically the 3rd-5th) we stayed in a hotel in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina which was absolutely amazing! Next, we drove up to Ohio to meet with some family friends from Germany. Lastly, we were supposed to drive up to Minnesota to visit my cousin and his family but we had to cut our trip short because my brother could not make the journey. We got home on the 8th but on July 10, my mom and I drove up to DC because I had my orientation for American University (Eagle Summit)  July 11-12. It went phenomenal and I'm totally stoked to be living there in about a month. We came back the 15th and I have been enjoying a very lazy few days.

Thus, there we have it ladies and gentlemen, I've been a terrible blogger these past few months but I hope to change that within the next few weeks. I would like to get into a routine prior to moving to AU, as well as, write up a list of blogging topics. Please feel free to comment down below some thoughts or suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. Until then, enjoy a few of my vacation photos and ciao!

XoXo,
Katya

  3. I agree with Patricia! Maybe write on how you're preparing yourself for university and being on your own away from home, as well as a few of your college trepidations or worries. I think your adventures would be quite note worthy.
