Don't Eat Pals - Economics NonProfit Organization Creation
The organization, Don’t Eat Pals, is dedicated in promoting the vegetarian lifestyle and educating the dangers within animal agriculture towards humans and the planet. Under federal law, the animals are to be stunned through either electric shock or knocked out, however, at several plants, the law goes broken and unpunished with atrocious consequences for both the animals and the workers; records, videos, and interviews reiterate violation of the laws ranging from the smallest to biggest corporations. If people worldwide continue the consumption of meat and do not attempt to reduce or eliminate the rates soon, animal agriculture will be a permanent consequence on our planet. Thanks to the recent debut of the Vegan and Vegetarian cafe, Don’t Have a Cow, in Clarksville, Tennessee, the Vegan/Vegetarian message has been buzzing throughout the community.
The mission statement of Don’t Eat Pals would focus promoting and educating in the realms of the Vegan and Vegetarian lifestyles, in hopes of changes in ideology which could in turn help the environment, animals, and humankind. With intention to provide conventions, seminars, and group discussion boards, Don’t Eat Pals primary goal would be to spread the Vegetarian lifestyle. With the hopes of partnering with Don’t Have a Cow - Vegan Cafe, the organization would also provide advertisement for the restaurant with hopes of encouraging other Vegan and Vegetarian joints to open as well, if demand were to grow. The essential goal of the nonprofit organization would be to encourage and help Vegetarian individuals also within the community with their own outreach programs. Targeting groups throughout Clarksville and eventually, beyond, the primary audience would likely be college students at Austin Peay; thus, the beginning initiative would be to reach towards that demographic.
While there are no Vegetarian non profit organizations within Clarksville, there are several obviously within existence. According to happycow.net, there are several that offer recipes and discussion boards for Vegetarians or those interested in joining the lifestyle. Therefore, while Don’t Eat Pals is similar to several of these organizations, it would be one of the first to include a community outreach program and potential partnership with a restaurant within the community; it would be a pure non profit organization with community involvement and utilizing volunteers for the programs.
While there would be funds necessary for the further stages of the organization, the initial phases would be highly dependent upon volunteers and partnerships within the community. Hoping to have campaigns or fliers around campus, there would need to be funds to begin advertisements for both the organization and Don’t Have a Cow cafe. Similarly, there would be a high focus on website-based material; online is where a lot of the information will be held to include recipes, tips, other means of giving or helping the organization. Don’t Eat Pals would be a highly community-based organization with a strong advertising base online with the mission of spreading awareness of how much greater and easy the Vegetarian lifestyle actually is.
