New Year's Day

Waking up at 9:30 would have been nice if I hadn't been woken up at least six times throughout the night. Regardless, I got ready and Heather picked me up at 10:20ish.

We had some errands to run but first stopped by Starbucks. Where we actually ended up just sitting until noon, talking about a lot. It was nice but we probably should've ran our errands. Thus, we went to her house to eat lunch with her mom which was nice. (:

At about 2, we went back to the mall strip area for Heather to get some clothes from PacSun and a perfume from Victoria's Secret before stopping by Walmart for me to get some things as well. She dropped me off at home around 5, so I decided to take a shower and put some clothes away before eating dinner with my family.

For dessert, mom had made Vasilopita Cake which is traditionally made for the New Year. Everyone gets a slice and each slice is dedicated for family and friends since there's a hidden piece inside indicating who will have good luck for the year! It's a fun tradition we have.

Last night after fireworks, we also opened up our New Year's gifts. My dad got some Walking Dead things, Alexander got a board game, two calendars, and a poster to put up in the playroom, Mom got one book but hopefully we'll go out and buy her something else, and I got five books ( The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey, The College Girl's Guide to Everything by Christie Garton, The Swan Thieves by Elizabeth Kostova, The Art of Arranging Flowers by Lynne Branard, Brooklyn by Colm Tolbin) and a Paris journal! (:
