The first night over was fine, except the beds were dreadful. I woke up with the worst pain in my back. Anyway, breakfast was at 7:45-8:30 and then our morning meeting was 8:30-9:15. The food wasn't all that bad at the Terrace, but last years was definitely better. Anyway, the first real day of dancing all day was great, interesting, and fun to say the least. Piper (the only other dancer) and I had Ballet first with Margaret (who is also Piper's mom) which was fine and normal because she's my teacher throughout the school year.
Next, was our first Modern class with Laquimah where we played some partner games and did some partner exercises which were both fun and weird.
After lunch, we had stretching with Marcus and then composition with Margaret where we had to go outside and find an object that had texture and meaning. At first, we thought it was really cool (a little odd as well), but then we came inside and she told us that our objects (Piper had a child's glove and I had a receipt) were to be our inspiration.
Interdisciplinary was with McLean and we MADE JOURNALS! It was actually really fun because as you guys know I love journals and writing. After that, our activity was to make a list of 20 things that inspired us. Mine were:
1. Books
2. Coffee/Tea
3. Friends & Family
4. Languages
5. Literature/Words
6. Nature (Flowers, Trees, Sky)
7. Cats
8. Music (instruments, songs, vocal)
9. Dance (ballet, modern, latin, hip hop)
10. Food
11. History
12. Astrology (stars, space, zodiacs)
13. Human Behavior
14. Body Language
15. Emotions (anger, sadness, happiness, loneliness)
16, Daily Life (the small/little things)
17. Culture
18. Classics (movies, books, fashion)
19. Theatre (plays/dramas, lines, sets)
20. Authors
(Extra) 21. Darks (Tim Burton, AHS, etc.)
After Dinner we had our Evening activity of papermaking which was actually really cool. And after we cleaned up, we had a water hose fight, getting everyone soaked and started "making it rain" and everyone sang "Singin' In The Rain" :)
