Side note: I am going to blog my overall day to day schedule of Watauga since I did not have the chance to while being there, so yes all these posts are dated to the day of blog not the day it is posted. :)

Check in began at 1 where I moved into my dorm room at Castle Heights (512) and met my roommate, Grace and her family. The welcome meeting was at 3:30 so I had loads of time to unpack all my things before walking over there with my mom and brother. The co-directors Margaret and Eli opened the meeting and introduced several faculty members. The meeting was over at 4:30, so the parents and family members all left, leaving the campers with Eli, Marcus, Margaret, Austin, and Andrea with opening activities. We basically played several ice-breaker games as well as a scavenger hunt around Trahern. Dinner began at 5:30 at the Gov. Terrace and then we had dorm actives with our RA's (Andrea and Austin). We played a game with candies where we each got five pieces and each kind stood for something. So we sat in a circle, took our pieces, and each had a turn where we talked depending on the candy we had. Laffy Taffy meant we either had to tell a joke or read the one on the label (god they are so bad), Chocolate meant we had to say why we love our art or how we got into our art, and Lollipops were 2 truths and a lie or 2 lies and a truth. It was pretty fun and helped us all get to know each other much better! :)

Chapters 14-16 (Creature's POV) - Entry #4

After Frankenstein abandons the creature, other than our short encounter in the woods when Victor is returning from Geneva, we are not exposed to him again until Victor’s retreat to the mountains. In chapter eleven, the creature opens his tale saying he is not quite sure of the beginning of his being; his initial memories and sensations began with his retreat to the woods after Frankenstein’s apartment. Living off berries and nuts, the creature was confused but learning survival skills along the way, including how to set and maintain a fire. I found this lonely encounter may have been initially good for the creature because it allowed him to figure out his surroundings of this new life he was brought into; however, keeping in mind while he is the great, big creature, he is very much in the dark about life and society itself, and without Victor to help him, he was completely and utterly alone.
