Happy Mother's Day

May 10, 2015

First I would like to wish that all the mothers out there had a wonderful, happy mothers day. Second, I would like to wish my own mother a very special mothers day. Since I can remember, my mom was the one always there for me. Since my dad was often deployed, it was my mother who would be there to check my fever, to make me breakfast, to pack my lunch, to give me hugs, and to make me smile. She was always there to scold me when I needed scolding, hold me when I needed holding, and help me when I needed helping. She's always done a great job of being my mother while being my best friend at the same time. I'm so thankful to have a strong relationship with my mother and that we talk about practically anything. Today, my brother and I went to the church that my mom works at for a mother's day celebration that included strawberries and ice cream. Next, we went to the strawberry field across the lot to pick strawberries in baskets we get to keep. It was a fun little afternoon and when we came home we gave our mom her presents: a blue&white stripped purse with pleather on the bottom, a "my mom rocks" mug, Downton Abbey's Lady Cora's evening tea, and two minion figures from Despicable Me. :) We then all ate lunch and the rest of our Sunday was sent resting and lounging around, until dinner where my dad cooked breaded schnitzel and spaghetti, which tasted great. Finally, my parents and I watched tonights episode of The Game of Thrones while eating vanilla ice cream with some cut strawberries we picked today and other berries. How was your guys' mothers day? :)
