Saturday Outing
Hello interweb. How are you guys on this beautiful Saturday?
Today I woke up around 9 AM and ended up watching some TV with my mom while eating breakfast. Then I got dressed, played with my kitty Leo, and blogged a bit. My mom and I put together the Easter baskets for everyone for tomorrow. Then at 1:30, my mom made us rice for lunch and after we ate, we left for our errands.
Our first stop was the library. I went to the computer lab and finished editing up my new template for this blog (comment below what you guys think!). Then I read two chapters in the current book I'm reading, "The Bell Jar" by Sylvia Plath. I decided to check out some new books as well (even though I have a pile of 5-6 books in my room at home) and ended up getting three Faulkner books, two books of Tennessee Williams' works, Stories from the Civil Rights Movement, a book about the town that Laura Ingalls lived in (from Little House on the Prarie), and a book full of poems by Emily Dickinson. So that's my exciting upcoming pile. By the time I was done checking out, my mom finished printing out the stuff she needed and we left the library.
Our next stop was Target, to get me an Easter dress for tonight. Now I know for most of you, it was Easter last Sunday but for us Eastern Orthodox, it's tomorrow. Actually our service begins tonight at 11:30 and goes until tomorrow morning at about 2:30 and then we feast. It's always tons of fun and I'll make sure to take some pictures to share with you guys tomorrow. Anyway, I found about 6 potential dresses and ended up choosing a simple black dress that was longer than arms when they fell naturally at my side (a nearly impossible thing to find since I'm tall with long arms) and wasn't too tight. I also bought a red scarf to wear since red is very symbolic for easter and even painted my toe and finger nails red to match the scarf.
