Routine Breaker
April 24, 2015
I really need to get back into the routine of blogging everyday! I've been horrible at it lately.
But here is a little update about the past few days:
Wednesday:
I woke up at 7 to leave by 8 for Austin Peay with my mom. I had a cello lesson at 9 with my fabulous teacher and we even discussed upcoming recital and possible pieces I'm going to play. It was also Earth Day, which is possibly the coolest day because I love nature and taking pictures of it. There were tons of faculty and students planting flowers around campus so that put a little bit of a smile on my face. Next, I had my EOC Prep class where I took an online Chemistry Practice Test and then I could leave. I ate lunch with Emilia in a booth at Einsteins until we moved upstairs in the UC since she wanted to work on some of her artwork. My next class was Algebra II where we (of course) took a practice EOC test that will count as a grade, but we had already seen a majority of the questions since they were questions on our previous homework assignments. We got out a bit early so Emilia and I walked to Chemistry and got there right on time. In class we were put in groups and given different packets that had different subjects and practice problems, when our group finished the packets we were allowed to leave. My mom still had to work on campus until about 5:30 so I waited until she was done and then we went home. I practiced cello until my dad was done making dinner, which I believe was steak and fries (delicious), and then I went back to practice another hours worth of cello before going to bed.
Thursday:
Tuesday/Thursday schedules are literally my favorite. I woke up at 8 since my mom had a meeting on Fort Campbell at 9:30 so we could be on campus by 9. I ended up staying in the UC with Emilia and a couple other friends until I had class at 12:45. In history, we didn't do much learning of history. Infact, my class is a Service Learning class so we have to put 15 hours of "volunteer" hours toward the project of the class (Faces of Valor - a remembrance book of all the soldiers in the community) in order to gain the college credit. So on Thursday, in class we worked on that very project. My era is the American Revolution so I did a lot of research in class. Next, I stopped by Starbucks to get a Venti Iced White Chocolate Mocha before going to my English class in Trahern. In class we broke off into our Lit Circles (I have Emilia, Hailey, Morgan, and Kaitlyn in my group) and we discussed the first 2 chapters of "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien and then we anaylzed the different possible perspectives it could have been written from. The remainder of class, our teacher read out loud the next two chapters before letting us out. Lastly, I went to ballet which was fine.. for the first 30 minutes. I ended up having sevre chest pains, feeling like I couldn't breathe and that my heart was about to pound out of my chest. My professor called my mom, who just happened to be with a student whose mom was a doctor. I ended up going home with my mom and eating dinner (pasta) before going to Martina's house. My mom had to bring my dad to an appointment tomorrow so I would stay the night at their house so I could still go to school in the morning. I met with Martina downstairs in the Music Building lobby and we drove to her place. We studied in her room until about 11 before moving out into the living room, watching the Food Network. It ended up inspiring her to bake some brie and warm up some lamb chops, it was delicious. I believe I dozed off at about midnight.
Friday:
This morning my alarm went off at 8 and both of us woke up. I changed quickly in her room and she went to take a shower. Thankfully, her mom had made some coffee so I put some in a mug then ate some wheat bread with butter. While I was doing all this, her cat, Freddy, was following me around the kitchen and when I went to fold my clothes into my bag, he sat in my lap while I pet him. He was adorable and sweet. I love cats. When Martina got out of the shower, she ate a bowl of fruit with some coffee but since neither of us finished before it was time to go, we brought our mugs into her car, hoping we wouldn't spill them haha. We talked on the ride there and parked close to the building we both ended up needing to go to. On the second floor was a writing lab that my history professor was holding for our class, whoever needed to get some hours in or work on their project. I stayed there from 9-3, finishing the American Revolution portion as well as the Spanish-American War. I remembered I had an essay to write that was due on Tuesday in class so I need to remember to work on that this weekend. Our professor also bought us all pizza and soda which we ate by 1ish, thank goodness I was so hungry. After the session, I walked to Starbucks to grab a coffee before going to Chemistry. I got out early because all we had to do was complete a short quiz and do an easy packet before being dismissed. I spent the remainder of my time on campus in the Marks building talking to Emilia, Kaitlyn and Kim before leaving at 5:30 with my mom to go home. Tonight we ate hamburgers that my mom made and were so good. I then spent the next three hours watching Criminal Minds and CSI: Cyber, which I really like because I love shows about how the brain works and technology. I'm actually wondering if I'd be interested in minoring in Computer Science, I think that'd be great to have with Journalism.
