Rivers & Spires

April 17-18, 2015

Hey guys! So if you're familiar with the town of Clarksville, then you'll know of the infamous Rivers & Spires. This festival includes stages with booming music at every corner, company booths, and very over priced fair food that everyone loves and hates at the same time. I was there this Friday and Saturday to volunteer since Middle College requires each student to have 18 community hours per semester. On Friday I helped with the Watauga booth with Cindy (the art director of the camp) and Andrea (last year's and this year's RA). Then on Saturday I helped with the AFS booth (the organization for the foreign exchange students) for about two hours and moved over to the Watauga booth for about six hours where we hand-made printed patches and gave them out. When Andrea, Sofie and Cindy left I went back over to the AFS booth and waited until my mom came back. The very loud music gave me a slight headache and the heat didn't help either, but regardless it was fun. I enjoyed talking with Andrea and making patches with Cindy at the Watauga booth. I met another foreign exchange student, Anna from Germany, who was very sweet. Her, Victor and I hung out and walked around the festival a couple times. To buy food, you had to purchase these tickets, so I managed to buy a pizza for lunch, a box of Bojangles fires & tenders at 3, and another pizza at about 7. It was a very long day but overall, fun.
