Weekend

Sunday: February 22, 2015

BackTrackToSaturday: I did pretty much nothing except switch between watching YouTube, Mysteries of Laura and surfing through Pinterest. I was suppose to have my friends over, David, Ramona (foreign exchange student from Germany), and Hanna (foreign exchange student from Sweden), but because of all the icey-rain-mush, we decided it was for the best to cancel our plans.

Today: I woke up at about 7:30 and began with doing my makeup (same routine as posted previously) and changing into a maroon knit sweater, black knit sweater (my great-grandmother actually made it), plain light blue jeans, black and white polka dot socks, and navy blue leg-warmers(under my jeans). I prepared my bag and came downstairs to wait for Mr.George, a man from my church, to come pick me up to bring me. I am Greek Orthodox and today was in laymen's terms, Forgiveness Sunday, which marks the beginning of Lent. For us, we give up meat, dairy, and chocolate. I haven't been to church in a long time and although the excuse of being busy is too lame to give, time just started slipping more and more and I started going less and less. It was a beautiful service though and it felt very relieving to be in church. During our service's we are required to stand the entire service except for the Sermon and usually the service's last for about 2 hours but today it was a bit more because the Forgiveness service was separate. I saw one of my old friends, Martina, who is the youngest daughter of the priest and it felt extremely nice to catch up with her, as well as the others and meet "new-comers". After both services we had fellowship hour, we ate food brought from various people and drank some coffee while chit-chatting. Mr.George's daughter, Mrs.Heather, brought me home since she lives just a few miles away from me. Once home, I decided to grab some breakfast and almost immediately after, some lunch while watching an episode of Vampire Diaries and then some YouTube videos. Then my mom and I watched an episode of "Mysteries of Laura" while she cooked dinner and after a delicious meal of schnitzel and three cheese hash-brown's, we all watched The Walking Dead and The Talking Dead.  I know it seems like my family and I watch a lot of TV but I swear it's just because of this extended break. Oh and surprise, surprise, we don't have school tomorrow... I can't live like this anymore you guys.

greek and proud haha
