Lists and Lent
Wednesday: February 25, 2015
Waking up this morning at 10 was bliss.
Most of you guys probably realized by now I hate mornings. I mean, to an extent. I enjoy being productive but I do not like waking up early. At all. Ever.
Regardless, I decided to come down first and eat some breakfast which consisted of cereal, coffee, a Special K bar, and water. My mom had already gone off to work and my dad had just woken up when I finished. He works the night shift at a factory in the town next to us so he's gone from about 2 PM-2 AM which means my brother nor I see much of him throughout the week, although I do a bit more now since I started Middle College. But then I went upstairs to take a shower, get dressed and do my makeup. Ladies, little side tip, if you're wanting volumizing hair, put a palm-amount of mouse in your hair while it's wet after the shower and then towel dry. It works wonders! Next, I came down to begin all my work. I always create to-do lists for the day so I have goals and know what needs to get done. My school to-do list consisted of re-emailing my trig review packet answers to my algebra teacher, online chemistry quest quiz, two act prep practice tests (english and reading), reviewing my upcoming english poetry project, english edmodo quiz, history book online quizzes, review history notes for upcoming mid-term, and read history paper requirements. On the other side of my paper was my household chores or tasks which included cleaning my closet, laundry, clean leo's litter-box, practice cello, blog, church, and come up with Lent appropriate meal ideas. After sitting in front of my fire place for about 6 hours, I finally managed to get my homework done. Around 6 though my mom came home from work to pick me up so we could go to church. Well not my church (Greek Orthodox), instead we went to the church she works at which is a Lutheran Church. Our church is actually about 30 minutes away from us so sometimes I go to the other one just so I have the calming feeling of going to church and just getting that religious fulfillment. First there was a soup-meal which was delicious and then today's service. Their theme for lent is "The Hard Questions Of Life" so tonight's was "Why are there so many religions?". It was actually a really nice service and I enjoyed the sermon a lot. After saying our goodbyes, my mom and I came home to make dinner consisting of rice for us all but chicken nuggets for my brother and fish sticks for my mom and me.
Thankfully, we should have school tomorrow but it's also suppose to snow tonight so please pray for my soul because I can not take this cabin fever any longer!
