Errands Day

Friday: February 20, 2015

Well this morning I had to wake up promptly at 7:30 since I had a doctors appointment on Fort Campbell, Kentucky at 9 so after throwing an old oversized sweater (on me, it was actually my dad's), plain blue jeans, a purple scarf and a red beanie, I headed downstairs. Pouring a bowl of my favorite Special K cereal (Red Berry) and grabbing a cup of coffee, french vanilla creamer and 6 spoonfuls of sugar, I scrolled through my Twitter feed until about 8:15 before grabbing my boots and jacket to head to the car. It was the first day since Sunday that my mom and I had actually left the house (extensively) and it felt so good to be out, although it was extremely bright due to all the snow on the ground. Some of you may know that Tennessee was (I'm not sure if it still is) under "state-of-emergency, explaining why we had no school this week. Regardless, there was tons of traffic and cautious drivers so we actually ended up being 25 minutes late to my appointment, which was dreadful because I hate, hate, hate being late. I checked in at the counter, showing my military ID that no longer resembles me, and sat in the waiting area for a solid 5 minutes before my doctor came. The appointment was rather speedy and once I left, we stopped by the tax center for my mom to reschedule an appointment, and then to the Commissary for grocery shopping. With those of you who may be unfamiliar with the Army life, the commissary is kind of like a Walmart if you will. We were there for what seemed like years, the difficulty is really the produce section and then first 6-8 isles because they are all the essentials, meaning we spent about 20 minutes in pretty much each one (side note: there are 22 isles in that commissary). Thankfully, after we were done, we ran into my best friend David who works there, and request him as our bagger. We had so much stuff we filled two carts. At the end of our errands it was 2 PM and my mom and I were growing a bit hungry so, we decided to stop by Sam's Greek Cafe outside of post to grab food for her, my dad, and myself then walked over to Marco's Pizza right next door to get my brother a medium sized pizza and me a small pizza. I ate the entire thing in about 20 minutes (a girl's gotta eat man). After arriving home, it began to snow (I'm sick and tired of it by this point) and we called my brother out to help us with all the groceries. We put everything away and decided to wait to eat when my dad got home from work, around 5ish. The remainder of my day was spent watching YouTube videos (especially Zoella's, I love her so much) and after dinner, I decided to catch up on some well forgotten homework.
