Memories from Watauga Arts Academy 2014
Saturday: January 24, 2015
There are rare instances where you make friends that will last a life time. They understand you and you, them. Sometimes there are people that you just "click" with. I had that instance in my life this past summer at Watauga Arts Academy. I had auditioned for the vocal and theatre parts of the camp but ended up being involved in pretty much all sectors. The first day after initial orientation, we all walked over to the cafeteria at the university for dinner, there I met my soon to be best friends, Austin (musician), Ben (dancer), Abi (artist) and Mary Mac (musician). Austin and Ben were roommates and so were Abi and Mary Mac, the four them were sitting together when I walked over to ask if I could sit with them. After that first day, we kind of became inseparable the rest of camp. We did everything together, always.
I had a range of classes from beginning my days with ballet and jazz, then having some music class, followed by an art class, then lunch, group activity class which changed everyday, and usually theatre class and vocal class, then dinner as well as another evening activity we did as a group.
Of course there were others I became friends with at the camp but the assassinator's were my group. We bonded so quickly and can talk about everything from life to harry potter to random funny things we see on tumblr or ifunny. We still talk every day but I love and miss them all so dearly and hope we get to share the experience again this upcoming summer, truly the best experience of my life. They are the best friends' I've ever had.
