Middle College

Please do not take offense by this post.

I listen to NPR in the car.
I work on my French by texting my mom in french (since she's French) and reading books in the language.
I try to read at least 5 books a week, minimum.
I blog primarily as an extra excuse to write since writing is my passion but also because I want to strengthen my skills as a writer.
I work hard to be above proficient in my classes and when I'm lost or confused or falling behind, I make sure to get caught up and fully understand the concepts.
I study and study and study.
I read random articles about things a lot of people in general, not just teenagers, honestly probably don't even care about.
I try to watch the news when I have time.
I practice my instruments: cello, voice, guitar and piano.
I try to learn in every aspect of my life.

And that is what kept me distant from the kids my age and that is what got me to transfer to Middle College.

  1. Everyone is not an intellectual, but it's closed-minded at best to imply that you are the only person within your age group who has experienced any of the Romantic (with a capital R) aspects of life you described: diverse cultures, classical education, etc.
To state the obvious, many people are superficial. That does not automatically make you better than them.
What do you gain by publically recounting every moment in your life demonstrative of your intellectual superiority? To be blunt, no one really gives a shit how many books you read throughout the summer or to how many countries you've traveled. People remember how you treat them, and an egotistical attitude will turn people off.
If you genuinely love learning, consider the possibility that you may be able to learn something from even the most seemingly superficial or stupid person. You may find yourself much happier a few years down the road.

  2. Additionally, your grammar and writing only proves you can't even put together a statement of any value. Your run-on sentences made me cringe and also made me question if anything you typed was accurate. I think you are over exaggerating situations just to make yourself seem smarter, even though you probably lack genuine intelligence and would get absolutely eaten alive by people because you are so naive to what actual intelligence is.
