Just A Little About Myself

Hello Interweb,

My name is Katya (CAH-TEE-YA) Podkovyroff, yes it's russian, no I have not been to Russia.

My full name is actually six names but I'll save you all the experience for a later time.

I was born in Germany but moved around a lot around Europe since my dad was an American Military Solider and my mom is French. We lived in various parts of Germany, France, Greece and just recently about 4 years ago moved to the States.

I must say it is kind of odd living in the states because it doesn't really feel like home even though English is pretty much the only language I can fluently speak (at the moment) because since we moved so much and switched languages so often none of them really stuck except English since I had to be able to talk to my father.

I'm currently a Junior in high school, however, I go to Middle College at the local university in my town so I take all my high school classes in one building with other Middle College high school students and I take college classes for free, since public education under the law must be free and so Middle College pays for my college classes and in return I must maintain no lower then a C in the class as well as give a minimum of 18 volunteer hours per semester.

I'm very artistic and have been since birth pretty much. I'm interested in it all. Dancing, Singing, Acting, Writing, Modeling, Music, Art... Lately I've become more and more interested in writing and photography and art, leading me to an idea that I might want to become a travel journalist, which I think is very cool, however, my father on the other hand would much rather me become a Doctor or Lawyer and thinks since I'm so "smart", I'd be wasting my potential going into a liberal arts major. Regardless, I still have a year and a half before I hit high school and even then the United States and it's marvelous education system (hint note of sarcasm) makes is pretty much mandatory to take general education classes your first two years of college, because you know, high school wasn't enough or anything.

In my free time I read, write, or draw. In fact that's kind of all I do. I journal every day and even blog a lot on my tumblr account but I realized I wanted to have a real blog, so I decided to create one.

Oh yes, I have the quote "the september journalist" on my blog just as a little nickname, if you will. May sign off as that from time to time actually.
