Tuesday Rant (Please Forgive Me)

Image
Hey guys. So I'm annoyed right now. Want to know why I'm annoyed right now? Well let me tell you. 1.I had to get up today at 7:30 because my mom had a doctor's appointment and needed to drop me off at school early in order for me not to be late. Meh. I hate mornings. 2. I woke up this morning and it was a chilly 45 degrees, right? Okay, logically, at 45 degrees, it's not too chilly but just chilly enough for closed-toe shoes so I wore sneakers, for covering material so I wore a sweater and jeans, right, right. Well the Tennessee weather decided to go from 45 degrees to a solid 80 degrees in a matter of 3 hours and so I'm walking around campus sweating like a dog. Yeah. Gross. But it's okay, my mom brought me a t-shirt to change in at around 3. 3. My foot hurts. I stood all weekend at work and just ahhh I don't want to move.  4. I found out my Voice lesson this Friday isn't a go because of Good Friday, no school. At all. University an...

March Favourites

Let's hop right in, shall we? 1. Green Converse At least twice if not three times a week, I've been wearing my green converse and although they're not new I've had a recent obsession with them. 2. Treating Myself So the past two weekends I was working and during my lunch break, I decided to treat myself to two new black sweaters from Forever 21 (a total of $23) and a pair of black sneakers ($8) from H&M. 3. Raspberries Absolutely love, love, love raspberries! They're probably my favourite fruit ever. I've been eating a lot of fruit this month and in all of my fruit bowls, Raspberries are a must! 4. Einstein's White Chocolate Mocha's Einstein's is a coffee shop on the APSU campus in Clarksville. Although their coffee is about the same price as Starbucks with smaller cups, their White Chocolate Mocha's are way better! 5. Silke's If you read my blog regularly then you'll know I've already been to S...

Weekend Life

Image
Hey guys! I realize I haven't posted much in the past few days, I've been kind of busy. But here's a little catch-up info. Thursday: I turned in my Wizard of Oz Allegory paper, I got assigned writing a letter as John Proctor to Judge Danforth about Parris (Crucible) in English, had Ballet class where we did quick bar work, jumps in the center and got to stretch, then in Modern we did our floor warm-up, a few exercises and then added an eight count to the dance we're working on. After all my classes, I decided to go to Subway and ordered a Big Philly Cheesesteak because I was so so so hungry. Friday: Today was a cold rainy day and although I love the rain, I HATE the cold. Anyway, in EOC Prep we were put in groups and given review flashcards, then I went to eat lunch with my friends Emilia and Channel, next I had my voice lesson with Dr.Bailey (who I love and is fabulous) and we worked on a few pieces (The Gentlemen Is A Dope from Allegro and Home from Beauty ...

Is The Wizard Of Oz A Populist Allegory?

Image
Hey guys! So my history professor gave us a paper to write with three possible topics and the one I chose is about The Wizard of Oz (agreeing or disagreeing with Littlefield's theory if it is a parable on populism) and re-reading the book, as well as several essays on the subject, makes me overwhelmingly happy. If you're interested in reading my essay, continue reading :) Many written works allude to other famous works and many children’s books are intended to teach lessons; thus, are primarily delivered as parables or fables. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz , a children’s novel written by L. Frank Baum, has been argued to be a monetary allegory for the Populist movement in the late 19 th century. In the book, a young girl by the name of Dorothy, is swept away from her home in Kansas and finds herself in the mystical world of Oz. Along her journey to meet the wonderful wizard, Dorothy is joined by a Scarecrow, a Cowardly Lion, and a Tin Woodman, each hoping to meet the Wiza...

Good Days, Good Moods

Image
Hey guys! So today was an amazing day! It began with a driving lesson with my dad at 9 AM. For those that don't know, I get extreme anxiety driving and sometimes even riding in cars. But I've been working on it and driving everyday for an hour or more has really helped relax that anxiety. Then my mom and I went to Fort Campbell, KY for a doctors appointment and grabbed lunch afterwards. We ended up at Sam's Greek Cafe and got gyros, pita chips and hummus. My history class went relatively well, we discussed Empire and War in the United States during the 1890s and ended right before World War I. Then our professor discussed our history paper which is due Thursday and that I will be writing all of tomorrow. I find it easier with essays to write them all in one sitting so then I don't loose any train of thought, which I would if I started Monday and finished Wednesday. It would read as if three different people wrote the paper. Next I went to Starbucks to...
